There's no wonder that this product rates high on my 5 hour energy alternatives top ten list.  This product is as close to 5 hour energy as the drinks come.  I might change my list, because at the time I was drinking alot of Mana Potions, which I like more for sentimental reasons, its taste, and its kick.  I like Mana Potions more than Nitro2go and 5 hour energy, but that's not for this review.

So alike are these two products that the makers of 5 hour energy actually sued N2G Distributing over patent and copyright infringement and rightfully so.

The tastes are virtually the same, but I'd have to say overall I like 5 hour energy's lemon lime the best of all.  Nitro2go's berry isn't bad, but usually all I can find is Lemon Lime, but I'm not complaining.

The drink kicked in and lasted about 4 hours on an official test - which is about the same as 5 hour energy for me.

The big difference is price.  The only place I've been able to find Nitro2go is in convenience store, right next to, you guessed it, 5 hour energy(oh yeah, and those Nitro 2 Go trucker pills that are collecting dust).  I've found overall Nitro2go is usually 50 cents to a dollar cheaper than 5 hour energy.  However, we're all about buying in bulk which makes 5 hour energy if we are talking in that direction as I can pick it up for $2 per bottle retail buying in bulk.  nitro2go is harder to find in bulk(but we have it!), and is about the same price in bulk.

In conclusion, in a quench if you are at the gas station and they've got both drinks go for the cheaper one.  If you are going to buy in bulk go for the 5 hour energy.  They are pretty much identical, so go for the one that's going to save you some greenbacks.

As an obvious knock off and want to be contender of 5 Hour Energy, Stacker 2 who has come out with quite a few different energy drinks including the Yellow Jacket, you would think that they would get it right.  Especially when they claim the product gives you 6 hours of mighty power.

Well, I was timid at first to down this drink.  What if it did give me 6 hours of heart jolting energy?  It could have overloaded my system, and I might have died.  Being your fearless energy drink reviewer I buried the thing down the hatch, knowing that my health was on the line.  Then it was only a matter of waiting.  I waited and waited.

And waited.

This product has absolutely no effect on me.  After waiting about 15 minutes I downed a second energy shot.  I'm still waiting.

That pretty much sums it up.  6 days later, and I'm still waiting.

As a consolation, it is the best tasting energy drink I've ever had.  But wait, it only counts as an energy drink when it actually gives you energy.

You may be wondering why I decided to include a review of a weight loss product.  Don't let the marketing fool you.  This product is as good or better than many of the energy drinks out there on the market.  I'll admit I only got it because I saw it on the counter next to 5 Hour Energy, and it was cheaper so I thought What the heck, I'll try it.

I purchased it at Walmart for $3.99 for a 2 pack.  I decided to take this in the evening so I could get some writing done.  I looked at the ingredients and was thinking it won't do much more than those weightloss energy pills out there, that really don't do anything.  Boy, was I surprised!  Some of the main ingredients include Caffeine Anhydrous, and caffeine from tea leaves but there are also a low, low amount of B6 and B12 vitamins.  It even has some healthy stuff like Calcium, Potassium, and Chromium.

I took it at 10pm and it wasn't until a little before 2 am that I decided I was getting tired and I wanted to go to sleep.  So nearly 4 hours of sustainable energy is really good.  And the buzz wasn't as dirty as 5 hour energy.  I could have stayed up longer, and I wouldn't have the same feeling with 5 hour energy.  With 5 hour energy your buzz wears off, and you don't crash but your body is pretty much worn out for the rest of the day.  Not so with Hydroxycut.  I was ready for bed, but I didn't feel like I had just worked out for the last 5 hours.

The taste of Hydroxycut is pretty much like cough syrup, but not as strong as cough syrup.  It's only two ounces so it's not a big deal to bury down the hatch.  I've had a lot worse energy drinks as far as taste goes.

In conclusion, this is a cheap energy drink, that may be marketed towards dieters but will work just as good to keep you awake.  Sustained period of energy will last for 3-5 hours with no crash afterwards.  I highly recommend this product as a 5 hour energy alternative
