If you've read my reviews for any amount of time you know how I am not a fan of the huge energy drinks.  Don't give me 32 ounces of dirty liquid when you can pack the same punch in a one swallow shot.  That being said you know how I feel about the original Amp Energy Drink, Monster(have you seen their new monster 32 ounce cans?!?), Rockstar, etc.  But just recently Pepsi got smart and have jumped on the energy shot bandwagon carrying over their Amp brand.

First off the taste is great for an energy shot.  They call it Jakfruit Citrus(??).  The best I can describe it as is an Apple flavored Jolly Rancher, which you know means it tastes pretty good.  It's a nice change from everything being berry flavored, or worse off, cough syrup flavored.

Most importantly, it kicks pretty good without feeling buzzed.   I just had an Amp right before I am writing this, and a few minutes in and you are already feeling it.  They're tagline is "Fast, Powerful Energy When You Need It."  Amp Energy Shot definitely holds up to its name.  You'll feel it quick and it lasts for a long amount of time between three - five hours for me, depending on the time of day and if I've eaten much before I take it.

In conclusion, Amp is a highly recommended energy drink.  I am actually going to revise my Top 10 5 Hour Energy Alternatives list, and add Amp in there.  I would rate it in the top 3, but I'm not yet willing to decide it's rank without further testing !
